1. When my student Sam (picture below holding a snail) was leaving to go to art, and didn't know if he would see me again before the day was over, said in his New Zealand accent, "Miss. Sera will I get a cuddle before I go home?" In NZ they call a hug, a cuddle, and my students either have to give me a high five or hug before they leave each day. I have caught this little guy "forgetting" things in the classroom to get to go through the "cuddle" line again. What a wonderful job I have, to get 14 hugs and 2 high fives at the end of every day!
2. Being introduced to Betsy Walker's music by my friend Katie. She is an artist from Indy, and is absolutely amazing. Her words just speak to my heart -- I think you all should buy her music online!
3. Making the other two guys on my floor sing "Happy Birthday" to our other floor mate matt for his 30th birthday. I made sure he had a cake and candles -- birthdays are a big deal in the zimmer household!
4. Attending my student Paul's birthday party at the bowling alley. I got to bowl with my kids and they treated me like a circus sideshow -- because seeing a teacher outside of school just shouldn't happen in their minds! Then Paul's family took me out to dinner with them, what a treat to be invited to the birthday dinner.
5. Riding in a tuk-tuk and songteau alone -- I finally feel comfortable enough to get around the city on my own, and knowing what to say to get me home.
6. Attending a potluck and prayer dinner with other teachers in the school, and them telling me how glad they were that I was teaching with them and that I brought a new perspective of joy and excitement to them. It was such a blessing to know that.

7. Getting the Brookville American in the mail. Good ol' Brookville news.
8. Having coffee/chocolate with Katie -- we talked about Jesus and she was such an encouragment and challenge to me. I look forward each week to hanging out with her.

9. Going to dinner riding on the back of motorbikes. I have decided that having my own helmet and riding on the back of other's bikes is a great way to get around... I need to have more motorbike lessons
10. Having dinner with my family on Sunday nights -- it is such a blessing to sit around the dinner table with my aunt, uncle and cousins. I look forward to the time I get to spend at their table on Sunday nights. They always give me a weekly supply of granola for breakfast throughout the week.
