Two Months...

I have been wanting to write an update blog for a long time, but for some reason my computer at home won't let me on the site! So I will do a quick update here at school before the kiddos arrive:

I went on a women's retreat last weekend for all of the Christian women in Chiang Mai. It was at a resort up in the mountains, and it was so nice to finally get out of the city. I was surrounded by all of the girls that I had met so far, and it was a true blessing to get to know them better. I found out that two of them love the office as much as I do! They are going to have office parties and download the new episodes each week. See God does provide! When I got home though, it was quite lonely and I knew that I just needed to pray for the Lord's protection from homesickness. When I was at IU, I would put on my head phones and go on a walk, so that is what I did. It was a blessing to walk with my worship music through the vegtable market, and down busy little thai streets on a sunday afternoon. I couldnt pass up 50 hot pink roses for $2 so I bought some to cheer myself up. A cup of chili at "Dukes" (The best western food in town) with my floormates made for the day to turn out to be a good one.

Yesterday was a really great day. I got the go ahead from my boss to buy a ticket to India for our October break, and boy can I tell you just how excited I am! I went after school to buy it then met Katie two stores down at starbucks. It was my first time in starbucks since I have been here and there was something So wonderful about being in a "familiar" place. We talked and laughed and both shared what we got in packages from the US today. She got a "fall" scented candle -- and it was SUCH a treat to smell, she shared it with me last night...

Well I have so much more to write but the bell just rang -- I will write an update with pictures after I get back from my Trek this weekend.
