Drive like a Thai

Nothing significant about this blog, other than the fact I thought I would share my motorbike story with you.

Tonight after hanging out with Katie at a very American coffee shop, we decided to make a trip to Lotus (Thai version of a Super Walmart). Since I will be attending three, yes three, Thanksgiving dinners on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday I thought I needed to contribute something to them. So, I am attempting butterscotch pie. I made it in the states, we will have to see how good it is in Thailand. Anyway, after shopping I have two bags of sugar, bag of flour, eggs, half gallon of milk, plastic container, 3 pie pans, oil, cream, salt and butter. And somehow this is going to fit on my motorbike. I am blessed to have a compartment under my seat, backpack and basket. I managed to fit everything on, and then strapped my eggs on top of everything in my basket. I had to laugh at that moment. Here I am doing my grocery shopping on a motorbike with eggs bunggied in on top of my basket. It was a Thai moment for me. No, I haven't worked my way up to fitting 5 people and a dog on my motorbike. The eggs made it safely home and even survived a fall as I was walking up the stairs to my apartment. Little moments like these remind me that I live on the other side of the world!
