In America if you want a diet coke on your break at work, you go to the vending machine. In Thailand if you want a diet coke on your break at work, you go to the street stand outside the school gate. This lady will smile when she sees me walk around the corner, and go over to the styrofoam cooler and pull out a "Coke Light" for me. She wipes it off, and will get me a cup of "naam kang" if it isn't cold. And, of course a straw. I am going to miss the social interaction of getting a drink. Vending machines don't wipe off your can, give you a cup of ice, or hand it to you. Why am I moving again?
