25 was wonderful, I mean is wonderful. It was a perfect day, and I am so overwhelmingly blessed, yet again, by the people in my life. I spent the morning at a coffee shop before school with Jesus, and it was so nice to be reminded how he loves every ounce of me, and that he knew me before time. My kids brought me in cute, hand-made cards -- including one that had a hand-drawn picture of me that popped out when you opened it. One little girl was super excited to bring me a cinnamon-dolce latte from starbucks, however, as she was about to give it to me, a kid accidentally bumped the entire thing out of her hand and she started to cry. Cute. (Actually today her mom brought in a replacement one for me!) We then got to go on a field trip around the corner to check out Butler's telescope and planetarium. I was super proud of my kids and the questions they asked. It was funny when we got on the bus, the kids reminded me how this was how Ms. Frizzle's trips start on the Magic School bus. They asked if the Planetarium was going to be closed, and if we were going to go to space instead. Cute.
I came back to my desk to find a beautiful vase of tulips and mini-roses from my very handsome and thoughtful boyfriend. Filled my kids and co-workers with mint chocolate chip ice cream and brownies, then headed home.
Only to find my grandparents little orange car parked out front of my little house. It was so sweet of them to drive 3 hours each way, just to have dinner with us! There was a card from Kelly in my mailbox, and a package from Raef awaiting me when I arrived. Mom, Dad, Anna, Andrew and double-ear-infection-Abe, all arrived. Daniel soon followed then we went to Binkley's for an AMAZING dinner. Jamie and Cody delighted with their presence as well.
My sister picked out the perfect cake, and during dinner I even forgot it was my birthday because it was just so great to have everyone together. I even forgot about presents! Blessing after blessing... what a perfect day.
