Preschool Quotes

Being a preschool teacher has it's ups and downs. One of it's ups is that it lends me to plenty of funny stories to share with people. I'm not a funny person, but I can sure get a chuckle out of people when I share about my hours in my classroom.  Don't get me wrong, nothing bothers me more when people think I have this all-you-do-is-fingerpaint-thats-so-cute kind of job -- try saying that again after you just single handedly put on 16 sets of snow gear before recess time. However, it is a very joyful job when you get little chuckles out of what the kids say. Here's a list of favorite quotes that I remember so far, I need to really write these things down!

(# = age of child, g or b = boy or girl)

a conversation between a 5b and his sister on the way to school.
"Did you see Mr. Chenery, he looks just like Flynn Rider from Tangled!"

a prayer from a 4g before snack time -- repeated by the rest of the kids in the class
"Dear Jesus, I hope to get married some day, since I caught the bouquet at my cousin Sara's wedding. Amen"

a comment after a 4g heard santa clause is coming to down on our cd player by Jackon 5
"Mrs. Chenery! Mrs. Chenery! I know who sings this song! Who? Unkie Mikey Jackson!"

during putting on coat time after a 5b got shoved out of the way and slipped on a coat on the floor
"I'm just so frustrated!! First he pushed me out of the way, then I slipped on that f---ing coat on the floor!"

after I asked a 4b if he had new mittens
"These old things? I've had them for centuries!"

after being gone from a day of school by a 4b
"Mrs. Chenery, my poop is solid now!"

comment from a 4b
"Want to know how I got to school today? An invisible motorcycle."

comment from a 3b
"Do you know my brother? He lives in Kindergarten."

while I was lifting a large jug of liquid soap to refill a little bottle this comment was from a 4b
"Wow. When I'm a manager someday, I'll be able to lift things like that."

during our preschool devotion time when I told them God watches over them, all through the night
"You mean, he protects me from the ghosts? Yep. And the monsters? Yep. And the robots? Yep. Doesn't he get tired? No, because he's strong. You mean, strong like superman? Stronger!"

I debating on putting a picture on here of the kids -- they are super cute -- but with the privacy laws I decided just to put a picture of our auction project that will get bided on this weekend!
